I captured a good image of this bird's nest to begin the editing process. The first important step in transforming it to the final image. I focused first on the tree and nest to give it this very detailed and contrasting image. The background was created from an image of some old gnarly dried fungi. I thought it was a perfect compliment to the prickly nest look.

This digital art photo is from Discovery Park during a winter walk. These trees caught my attention for their stark and narrow patterns they made. I added the swirling background from the knot pattern in an old log.
