Up In The Highlands
This was a beautiful scene that we saw coming off the highest point of the Camino - You can see the cattle grazing in the high country in the distance.
Endless Fields and Sky
We climbed a short hill and suddenly came up on this flat, flat endless landscape. It worked best I felt as a Black and White image to bring out the starkness and endless nature of the landscape. This pano image is 2.4 to 1.
What Lasts?
Walking the Camino one comes across many buildings like this. Where a building is a complete ruin and it is next to one that is occupied.
The Road Less Traveled
Walking the Camino can feel at times you are on definitely on the road less traveled. You do end up working on roads like this for miles!
Mountain High Cattle
Shale Landscapes
Coming down off the high point of the Camino one walks down a very steep at times and crumbly landscape. Lots of shale rock.
Meadow View
Taken on descent from top high point of Camino. You can see the large city of Ponferrada in the distance.
The Long Road To Ponferrada
The long rugged trail from the high point of the Camino to the city of Ponferrada in the distance. Takes a lot out of you!
Take Me Home To Ireland
The landscapes of the Galacia region of Spain have similarity to the landscape of Ireland.
Highway Tree Delight
Walking the Camino, one eventually has to do some highway walking. Many times when we are driving I will see some beautiful scene but there is nowhere to stop. This pano was taken directly from the highway. I loved the backlighting of the trees and played with the image in the digital darkroom to get this final effect.
Entering Galacia
Galacia is the last region of Spain that we walked across. This pano was taken at the base of the mountains of Galacia.
Coming Down From O'Cebreiro
The high mountain town of O'Cebreiro in the Galatian mountains was very windy and rainy when we got there. Coming down off the mountain the next day we had some great landscapes that made us think of Ireland.
Green Mountain
On the long climb up to the city of O'Cebreiro, we saw some beautiful countryside!
